The later tractors had documentation that was MUCH more complete, its a question of what survives to make it into an archives, and what gets shreded. IH's engineering department did a good job of documenting even the earliest tractors, with secs, blueprints, and engineering releases, unlike some other companies- you'd be amazed how many of the early tractors were produced without even the aid of blueprints! The engineer had these little notebooks with scrawled dimensions, often in crayon!
