I have an 04 F350 4x4 Crew with the 6.0 and have nearly 90K miles. I have not had a single issue with it and I tow heavy! The key for the 6.0 is to not let it idle. Too much idling builds up soot and then you have issues. Why people let modern diesels regardless of make idle is beyond me given they aren"t hard to start in the cold any more; mine starts at 10 below without being plugged in (don"t recommend doing it often). All that said, I would not buy an 03, unless you get the OASIS report and verify that the engine has the latest updates.
