Hello John, I can't say for sure what the factory set up was. A good rule of thum on pan bolts is if there is a heavy steel strap then lock washers if it's just tin then a flatwhasher and a lock. if the holes are dished in, then take a flat bar in a vise and hammer the holes flat. I tighten the bolts with a 7" rachet "tight" and if it is a cork gasket I retighten them after the engine was warm. Loctite will work if you get the threads completely free of oil but I would not use it on oil pan bolts it realy isn't needed. Godd Luck Ed
