Eric: I passed late 70s Ford highway tractor and trailer once with Farmall 1066. It was an old two lane highway with a long passing lane on the up grade. I could see he was loaded heavy, I was pulling about 6 ton behind 1066. He had passed me as he approached the hill, however soon lost his speed. I don't think 1066 lost 50 rpm, and about half way up the hill I passed him. As I did he gave a thumbs down to his power plant, and was also on his CB. I expect someone was getting an earfull, "damn farm tractor passing me".
I never did talk with him, however I do know the company he was driving for, were famous for little more than 200hp in highway tractors pulling trailers in hill country.
