The A's and Super A's have a rather loud gear action when running. It is louder in reverse than in a forward gear. If I could hear the noise you mention I could tell you if it is out of line, but you will not eliminate the rear end noise from a Cub, A, Super A, or B. If there is enough oil in the rear end and transmission and you have verifed that all the axels are tight as suggested by others, you noise may be completely normal. Larry
