Tom: I agree with the others, especially the brake idea and reverse. one other quick item you can check, jack rear wheel, as jack takes the weight, watch axle in relation to final drive for looseness. Once you have it clear, try turning wheel by hand, listening for that same noise your hearing with weight on axle.
