I'm with Jim N. Start at the outside and work in. Rim to wheel and wheel to hub should all be tight. Beyond that it could be bearings on the bull gear or pinion or the bearing where the diff shaft passes through the tranny housing.
It wouldn't rule out bearings as the source, but with the noise only in reverse it suggests that the brake band/drum could be in play.
