I think the bottomline is how do you feel about paying $500 for the tractor. I am currently rebuilding the same model and year tractor ( it is my grand fathers tractor). Its seized up as well, most are (they are over 70 years old). Don't let that bother you too much. You would have to replace the cylinder sleves anyway. I personally think that $500 is pretty cheap investment for the fun and challenge of rebuilding these historical beauties. Check out "fordsonhouse.com" they are really informed about this tractor. The 1936 F-12 tractor was offically to be painted Grey, however Mccormic-Deering painted some of their tractors red that year to see if it would be accepted by buyers/farmers that year (Mine is red as well). In 1937 All Mccormic-Deering tractors became the red color that we reconized today. You never know you might have until you start investigating ? Good Hunting//
