I ran into this same prblem of not being able to get a themostat on a 756 that used the same one. The fix is to change the water pump carrier from a different series tractor that uses a german diesel, it will bolt right on, this housing has a conventionaly mounted thermostat housing on it. I found this would probably cost over $1500.00 worth the parts. I fabricated a thermostat housing that fits directly in place of the original,with only cutting a little more than a inch off of the upper radiator hose. It also now has a thermostat which can be replaced, that can be bought at any auto parts store. This has been working great in the tractor that I put it in. If you are intrested in more please reply.
