Just a note to add. I have a 1951 Super-C that has been changed from 6 volt positive to 12 volt positive by adding the 12 volt battery, ballist resistor to the 6 volt coil and the generator was changed to an 12 volt POSITIVE ground alternator. The starter is still the original as also is the voltage reg. Been running this way for 25 years with no problems. This tractor is used for plowing snow and I got tired of changing weak 6 volt batteries every year. When it's below zero a 12 volt battery is very nice. Starts on the first crank. Some of you may not believe when I say 12 Positive ground alternator -but I had it specially made by an old generator/alternator man.
