The original seat frame looks like a curved pipe, the pipe is attached to the mounting bracket bolted on top the transmission housing with a spring on it. The seat pan is on the other end on the pipe with a hinge to flip the seat over when it is not in use and some have a tin toolbox bolted onto the pipe.
