The Seasonal Disconnect switch turns off the power to the IPTO. All the PTO's on the SMTA's I've heard have a "whine" noise in the PTO unit and turning the disconnect switch will turn off the PTO and stop the whine. I did it on Dad's SMTA and it is nice since we are not using the PTO right now. If you don't use the PTO much, turn off the power to the PTO with the Seasonal Disconnect, if you use the PTO alot, leave it on.
