Glad to see another 504 diesel owner on board! The 504 glow plugs draw 25 amps so 10 ga wire is recommended. You should have 2 wires. One is the LINE side (12 v) and the other is LOAD side (glowplugs). The ground thru the head of the engine. Hope this helps and post if you have any other future 504 issues.
