Start in the center and work towards the ends in a spiral pattern. Bring the all nuts up to 40 ft-lbs, and then 50, 60, and finally 70 ft-lbs. Keep going around until all the nuts hold at 70 ft-lbs.
I'm guessing you know about bring the motor up to temperature and re-torqueing the head. BTW the IH manual does not show a pattern either.
