It was a very good machine. It was a diesel and had power steering and a No. 1501 IH loader . We moved alot of manure and snow with that tractor and had it until 1995 when my brother quit farming and the 424 was sold at the auction. I still regret not buying it, but I didn`t have a whole lot of spare cash at the time and I was also wanted to keep Dad`s Super C in the family, so I only could afford the SC.

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
