This will not work. I would go for .002, but zero, and binding is sure to be taken apart with rework needed. Either the crank flange is not machined correctly, or the bearing lips are too thick. There is no realistic method of fixing it on sight. Are you sure there is no nicks or dings in the main cap orr block that would cause the insert to flare ? (check the width of the main and cap to see if they are narrower than the bearing opening. The difference between the two should be .002 or less. JimN
