A hitachi alternator from a Nissan Pu (about 1986)is a fifty or 60 amp unit and is similar in hookup to the SI, but physically smaller. Torning the original bracket upside down, using some ready rod (all thread) and washer shims it is possible to easily make it fit. The SI does fit, but not with much adjustme nt, and with some frustration. In the archives there are several setups for wiring. I recommend a 50 amp fuse link in the wire comming from the amp gauge going to the starter relay to avoid letting the smoke out of the system. JimN
