O.k...update: I got the filler plug out w/ a torch & a set of channel locks. I drained the trans fluid. I got about 5 gallons of what looks like old mustard & after an hour w/ a heat gun pointed into the filler, I got another 3 or 4 gallons of water. (I have 2 5 gallon buckets almost full). Now, I'm in Maine, this tractor does not ever get covered, it hauls logs & gets used constantly, what type of oil should I put back in (80-90?) & How much, I'm pretty sure the 9 gallons is too much. And, I'm putting teflon tape on my filler plug threads, but, what is the likely source of that much water finding it's way in there?? Do I need to put a 5 gallon bucket over the shifter?? Thanks
