In my opinion, no, "Get a manual" is not an answer.
It's good advice, but it's not an answer. To me, that reply says one of two things:
Either the poster doesn't know the answer, or does not want to take the time to explain the procedure.
I often ask questions because I don't happen to have a manual yet, or the one I have doesn't go into sufficient detail, or I'm hoping someone who has been there and done that can give me a quick off-the-cuff explanation.
The whole purpose of this forum is to be helpful and share knowledge. "Get a manual" does neither.
