Hi John, do you get white smoke out the exhaust when cranking engine? From your post this appears to have all started after you replaced the front seal on the fuel injection pump. Is this correct? When you removed the injection pump did you scribe a mark on pump and mounting plate so you would not mess up the injection pump timing? Are the glow plugs actually working properly? Does the indicator on the dash turn cherry red? Also I am wondering if the injection pump is loosing prime? Try hand pumping the lift pump before attempting to start.
