em, A starter repair shop (if theres any left near you) could likely do a conversion in the event you CAN NOT find any 12 volt with the right mount. I've never had any 6 volt starters go bad when I left them following conversion to 12 volts, however. It can be a bit tough on the mechanical starter drive due to the higher kick in torque, but it looks to me like have yours rebuit and converetd by a repair shop or (if thats possible) or else just get a good 6 volt which should last a longgggggggg time.
