Good advice from MK, but assuming you do have to get into the pump, it"s haevy greasy work but not hard. They really are rugged units and IH still supports most parts - but they"re not cheap. I highly recommend the lift-all blue ribbon service manual, it tells you all you need to know. I just rebuilt the pump on my "50 M and like you had never been inside a hydraulic pump before. Getting the coupler off the shaft was the hardest part - heavy vice, pipe wrench and a cheater bar. After that pops free it"s easy.
