I would like to see passenger cars go totally electric, until they go soley that direction they will continue to be inefficient. For example I have an 84 Merc Lynx diesel in the woods that got 48 miles on diesel in 1984. I also heard on a radio program that 80% of electrical usage is used in daytime hours while capacity has to remain the same. Plugging cars in at night would get better usage of power current power capacity. Also I cringe when I hear the push for natural gas. It is used in making commercial fertilizer which we used to be an exporter of and we are now a huge importer of. Perhaps they will get nitrogen fixing corn before us farmers are the next needing bailed out. Many farmers in this area are skipping fertilizing soybean ground. Last year we worked for the fertilizer and seed companies.
