pulled the head and i.p. off to get repaired. gonna do rod bearings while i'm at it. if i'm pullin the rod end caps off, figured i'd pull the pistons, lightly hone and check taper and ring gap. is the bore taper tol .005? ring gap? can i reuse the end cap bolts. what torque? what stone would you guys use to deglaze? there is a ridge at top of cylinder(not too bad, i've seen worse). will running the hone over this ridge hurt anything? this is a light use tractor. wasn't really burnin much oil and it started good, but the head cracked and i knew the i.p. was weak. will only get a few hours a year, but it was my grandfather's and i've already got some money in it so i gotta get her runnin again. thanks.
