My 300U with power steering has leaked lube oil from the steering shafts since I bought it--even after replacing the seals (they are installed correctly) and switching to SAE 140 gear oil. Would using "speedy sleeves" or whatever they're called on the steering shafts be the best route for solving the leakage problem? I'm guessing that the shafts have worn enough where they contact the seals to allow lube oil past them.
The power steering seems to work OK, not sure how good it was when new, so I don't know if it is worth trying to pull the steering unit out to fix shafts and reseal the power steering. What has anyone else done, and what parts are even available?
