An H should pick up a 489 without much issue (regardless if it's an early or late pump). I've moved our 489 on numerous occassions with an H.
Ports on the left or right side should both be pressure ports and should lift your haybine. The return on a belly pump would be tied into the tapping at the very bottom of the pump below the torque tube.
