Acually, I did both to the manifold on my "A". I had it hot tanked, and we have a small blast cabinet at work so I sandblasted it as well. I picked up some 1200 degree flat black (no other colors) paint from NAPA and gave it a couple of good coats, and baked it in an oven at 400 degrees for an hour and a half. It came out flat black and looks better then raw cast iron, and hopefully it wont come off and rust up. I havent got the engine running yet so I dont know if the paint will stay on the manifold yet or not. The other alternative is to send it out and have it "Jet coated". I see adds for this in hot rod magazines here and there. Its kind of spendy to have done, but it sure looks cool and should preserve the manifolds. Steve T
