smoke in road gear

I've got a 49 H and when I put it in road gear and it gets up to speed, it starts blowing smoke from the bottom of the tractor. I don't know if this is an overflow tube or what. I was wondering if this is normal or is there something I should take a look at. I am new to tractors and I read most of the questions and answers in this forum and I appreciate all the input from everyone. Thanks in advance for any input concerning this matter.
