No offense old, you usually have knowledgable answers but the only one you had right this time was #4. The question was whats the easy way to tell a 6v from a 12v battery and the answer is 6v has 3 caps and 12v has 6.
#1,#2 and #3 are wrong because I have two stock and original 1968 tractors that have 12v neg gnd and they both have generators, not alt.
When you said all tractors I think you just painted with too broad a brush.
