Jim,
Thanks for your help a page earlier on my '41 A wiring. I notice I incorrectly referred to the black box on top of my Generator as a "Regulator," while the correct name seems to be "cutout." (I have the 4-position switch). What is the difference in how these two devices work? Is it that the regulator "knows" when the battery is fully charged and automatically drops the generator to low charge? This makes me think that with the cutout I should keep an eye on the ammeter to avoid overcharging?
