Yesterday late afternoon I drove the 1949 Cub! It is 4 months shy of being 60 years old and I have no idea how many years it has been neglected, but I climbed on the seat and started it up after about six weeks of refurbishing. It did not start at first. Finally I remembered to pull on the ignition switch. Then it started right away. Awesome sound. Immediately I saw oil coming out at the top of the oil filter case. Oil pressure gauge did move max to the right. Later I saw gasoline dripping from the bottom of the carburetor. Going to remove it and look inside this morning. I think it can only be three parts that would allow it to drip gas. I used my lathe to make a knob for the ignition switch; however, had not put it on before starting the Cub and forgot about the ignition.
