I say kudos to you, Tom. I love tractors restored to "better than new condition". I say that because I have seen some that have had such a meticulous restoration done that I'm sure they are better than they were new. These machines weren't sold to look pretty. They were sold to do a job and make someone money. I'm sure they came with flaws in the paint and possibly other things. I feel when doing a restoration one needs to consider the intended use of the tractor. I like to play with mine and use it for light work around the farm. Thats why I put a good paint job on it, not a perfect paint job. It looks great, but the reality is that its gonna get some scratches over the next few years. As soon as time, money and space permit, I want a working 450D. That will be my play tractor while I meticulously go through my MDTA. I just can't stand to watch every one have fun while my tractor is up on jack stands in the shop all tore down and a very meticulous resto job takes years, not months. I'm sure you'll agree.
