Why not just try to find an entire salvaged U joint at a tractor parts salvage dealer. One I"m familiar with is J.P. Tractor Salvage in MO. (they have a web site.) You may still have to replace the bearings in it, but it may avoid a great deal of hassle. If the bores are damaged because of the weld, or you"re cutting it out, it may be near impossible to press in the new bearings. I just did my 240 steering and had to expand the U joints to get the new spiders in. I bought new spider bearings from IH for $16 each.
