Better to ask a dumb question than to have an injury due to these antique machines without all the modern safety devices. We older guys learned, many of us the hard way, about such things as checking the gear shift position before cranking a magneto-type tractor, etc, etc. I bet there are some hair-raising tales that could be told by those of us that are still alive!
