Steve: Your right, larger 86 series will not fit on, however cabs from 56 and 66 series tractors can be fitted on and look quite decent. I'm thinking of the Excell or diamond shaped cab. I fitted one of those to my 656 that came off a new 1066. It takes a bit of fabrication and engineering.
Year-a-round built a cab and many of those were fitted on 656, 666 and 686.
