Hugh, we hang sweaty t shirts around in the garden after chopping weeds or something. Then I change them out every time I work a fresh sweat out there. Seems to work very well for deer. Don't do a damn thing for the coons though.
We have lots of screech owls here but never really noticed them bothering the robins much. Then again I may not be paying close attention. Lots of Great Horned and barn owls too.
