If you've got a VOM or DMM figuring the generator terminals is straightforward: Set the meter to the lowest ohmmeter range (Ohms x 1). Now measure resistance from both gen terminals to the generator case.
The one very low resistance (<0.1 ohm) is the armature ("A" or "ARM"). The other will show some resistance (approx 2-1/2 to 6 ohms). This will be the field ("F" or "FLD")
Figuring the regulator terminals is more problematic depending on the make/model. However here are approximate resistance readings (terminal to frame) for a typical 3-terminal Delco regulator.
0 ohms = F (or FLD) 25 - 100+ ohms = G (or GEN) (open circuit) = B (or BAT)
