Bite the bullet and go buy an inexpensive paint gun. You need to spray a epoxy primer and you can't get that in rattle cans, as it comes in rwo parts.. Remember, plain primer surfacer is NOT paint, is Not waterproof, or proof to anything. Anything that comes in contact with it will seep into it. You need to paint over it as soon as possible. If you can spray them with primer, you can spray them with paint.
