Well, it depends on a few things. First off, what kind of care has it had? Has it been overhauled recently? Can you speak to the previous owner and principal operator? A run of the mill 560 diesel is usually worth about $2500. The problem you run into is that if the engine is weak you could easily have more than what you paid in the first place in just the motor. That 282 diesel is a good motor but must be operated properly. They are prone to head cracking. If they are not properly warmed up before working and cooled down after they will crack a head in a heart beat. Hugh McKay can tell you more about them than I can. I think he put over 12000 hours on his before he ventilated the block. I don't know what you plan on using the tractor for but in my opinion the 560 with a narrow front end is a fairly nimble tractor. However, a 560 with a wide front end is a clumsy pig. I've had both. There are some uses that you have to have the wide front. If you are looking for a tractor to restore and drive in parades I would get one with a narrow front.
