Something like this happened to my M a couple months ago . It's all been rebuilt now . What happened was the pilot bearing failed and a roller fell out and got jammed into the teeth of the constant mesh gear and locked up the counter shaft to the input shaft . The main shaft would still turn so it was able to be towed in neutral . I'm not sure how the 450 tranny is put together but if it's similar to the M's then you might want to look inside to see what's up . It seems to me that if it was stuck in two gears it wouldn't move no matter what position the clutch was in . If you were able to move it with the clutch disengaged then it's not the gears . If it's like the M then the main shaft turns with the differential , the main shaft has all the sliding gears on it , with it in two gears you get no movement of the differential . That's if it's built like an M . Somebody will enlighten me and you about that . So , if it would only move with the clutch in you have a problem someplace else . Can't help with that .
