the coupling is just a steel disc with two slots 90 degrees apart. rotate the pump coupling so one is facing up and down, the pump will just slide straight down. BE CAREFUL, that dang pump is HEAVY!!! i use all thread rod in four of the retaining bolts, run a nut up on each, then remove the rest of the bolts, use the nuts to lower the pump down, it takes a while, but better than droppin that pump on ya!!!!!
