Farmal 350 - electrical questions

So, this beast won't start. It did when I bought it 4 years ago. 2 kids later, I am getting back to it :) So it was sitting for 4 years.

I put a new 6V battery in it (from AutoZone) - it's a 1-6V. It used to have a 1-8V. The starter clicks sometimes when I push the start button - sometimes not. Maybe the battery doesn't have enough cranking amps?

I noticed that there is a wire hanging - it's from the "L" terminal on the regulator. I looked in the manual, and it shows a loop on the other end in the schematic. Anyone know where this should be attached to?

Also, it doesn't have a key ignition - just a hole there.
