There is a part on the top of the 3 point hitch/rear differential that is a canister about 12" long and 4-5" in diameter. It is located under the cab accessible by removing the back cab cover. It lays horizontally and is connected with a single large diameter hard line to the topmost section of the rear end to what looks like a control valve of sorts. Anyway, it has been leaking and rewelded at least 5 times in the past 6 years. The dealer calls it a hydraulic accumulator and new they are almost $600. Do I need this part? Can I just cap the fitting off and remove it from the tractor? I don"t want to hurt anything but I"m plowing and it"s out in the field.
