As my 1949 Farmall Cub would not start this spring I started to check things and felt I had weak spark at the plugs. I checked the points and decided to replace them as they were fairly old. During this process the insulator block on the post that goes through the distributor body, broke into many pieces. It also was very old. This is the terminal with the wire from the on/off switch. So I replaced the post and insulator. I also replaced the points and condenser. There is a wire from the magneto near this post that I did not see when I removed the old post. I assumed it should be connected to this post but when I do it grounds out the point assembly and I have no spark. When tested separately, this wire is grounded. Where should this wire be attached? I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks
