I'm trying to repaint my Farmall emblem. I stripped all the old paint off and sanded it. I cleaned it, let it dry, then hit it with primer. Then I hit it with silver. (The paint is cheap stuff from Wal Mart). I let the silver dry for two days. Last night I tried to brush black into the background, but the wet black started pulling the silver up and mixing in. So, I laid a little down, and let it dry. Tonight I tried to put black over black, and what silver was there started mixing in again.
So, I'm to the point where I guess I should buy a new aluminum emblem, even though I'd like to keep the original.
