The seal on the primary pump is what is leaking and if not tended to will wipe out the cam bushings in the pump . The pump uses the same oil as ya put in the engine but does not draw it from the engine . It is a wise practice to check and add to the pump oil level every day and change it when ya change the engine oil. Don't know where your from But when i had the shop open i sent all my pump work to a good friend of mine and he knows the old I H pumps .
