Carl - I use generic #10 hydraulic oil in both the Charlynn and the lift reservoirs. How to tell when they're full? With the motor idling and the one-way cylinder fully retracted, keep adding oil until it starts puking back up the fill tube. That's probably not the right procedure and it's kinda messy, but it works for me. (It think the original reservoir cover had a dipstick as part of it....)
