In addition to the advice below here�s a few more things to check:
- Double check sure nothing�s fouling the float needle seat � a grain of rust, a bit of of teflon pipe tape, a burr on the needle or seat, etc.
- Check both float pontoons are not waterlogged. If you shake the float and hear anything sloshing inside, replace it!)
- If the float needle is all metal, remove the float then with the throttle body casting inverted give the needle a couple light hammer taps to shape the tip to match the seat. (NOTE! DON�T do this if the float needle has a viton (rubber) tip!)
- Before putting the carb bowl back on test the float valve: Mount the throttle casting to the manifold and reconnect the gas line. Now turn on the gas and hold and float up with light finger pressure. You should get go gas whatsoever from the float valve (no dripping) with the float held up.
