OK, what I have noticed on some of those is that the foot pivot is pushing on the switch CROOKED instead of STRAIGHT. A crooked push will cause the switch to fail prematurely...
Unhook the battery and push the switch and make sure that is pushing straight on the switch and not crooked/off kilter.
That's my $3 worth so you can buy a gallon of gas, LOL.
