I grew up with tractors. From the time I could walk I was on a tractor so I don't have a first memory. I do have the memory of the day we got my grandfathers H. It had a wide front but it didn't work right. It would turn great one way I think it was left. But it would not turn right. It would only go about half way, so it turned real wide going that way.
I remember the day we got the 656D. It was a monster on our farm of 160 acres with 2 model A's, a 530 case Diesel, an M, H, F14, and 9N.
After we got the 656 we started to farm over 300. When I got big enough to drive it by my self, I was about 12. We started to farm about 400 acres. We got a Hiniker (spelling) cab for it and life was getting better in the spring but it was too hot to drive in the summer.
It is funny that back then I felt like I was being punished. Now I would love to go back and do it all again. Now that I can appreciate what we had.
